Catherine McAuley School was established in 1996 and has a rich Catholic tradition based on the values of our patron Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sister's of Mercy.

But what makes us special?

  • We take pride in offering our students quality education in a caring environment
  • Our values of Faith, Growth and Unity are deeply held within our school community and makes Catherine McAuley School a special place.
  • Our school celebrates and caters for diverse learning needs. This is reflected in the special programs that we conduct.
  • Our focus as a "Green school" involves our children developing a relationship with their environment and becoming caretakers of a sustainable global world. Our "green school" program involves children recycling paper and biodegradable waste, water catchment and recycling, and a sustainable garden.
  • Our school has a deep sense of Catholic mission and social inclusion and through the vegetables grown in the sustainable garden provides regular soup to Centa Care as part of our school's outreach program.
  • Our school provides contemporary electronic and digital resources which include a computer suite, computer pods and Interactive Whiteboards in every class.
  • Our school has developed a special relationship for Defence personnel and have a DSTA aide to support the transition for Defence families as we are close to the Edinburgh RAAF base.
  • Our school shares facilities such as Out of School Hours Care and Vacation Care, Art and Design area, oval, and canteen with Playford Primary School. This special arrangement provides a rich experience of co-operation between schools and maximizes resources for our students and families.
